Different.

Thought I’d give y’all a round up of what’s going on in Joanna’s world:

I’m 99% sure I’m gonna be moving outta Karmamplify. I’m designing a new layout, new name…new everything. My own domain, own hosting; all that crap. Should be done in around three weeks, so get ready!

I’m out of school, technically. Have about 11 exams over the next few weeks before I’m done with compulsary education, and bring on the summer!

I watched the Eurovision…it was absolutely bloody awful. The quality of songs went down a lot (yes I know, there wasn’t really much ‘quality’ to begin with) but Bosnia & Herzegovina, Spain and Germany all beat the UK, and they were among the worst performance I’d ever had to sit through. I knew Andy Abrahama wouldn’t do that well. He went in optimistic (bless him) and I have to say, he didn’t fair half bad. It took him about a minute to warm up, and the back singers were a tad off-key but in the end, I thought he did well. Yet he came out last. Sure, political voting comes into it, but I also think there could’ve been some racism behind it. Anyway, I think he did the UK proud, so there’s nothing but  love for Andy from me.

And for the record, Ani Lorak (Ukraine) should’ve won. She was by far the hottest diva there, and her song is awesome (she was horribly off-key at the start though).

So thoughts of the day: I love Andy Abraham and I hate exams. Bring on Karmamplify’s death, and the rebirth of something new…

Alive and Kicking.

As you may have noticed, I’ve been laying low these past few weeks (or is it month? I’ve lost track…) It’s not because I’ve forgotten how to blog, lost interest in writing/reading/commenting everyone’s lives but I have been wrapped up in a few personal issues as well as my schoolwork.

Final exams begin in several days and I have a feeling I’m never going to take them seriously. I feel a sense of impending doom.

I feel I need to  pen my thoughts at this important time but I’m very much in the mood to scrap my design and try something new. Even though I’ve had a lot of love for my layout I definitely need to improve. My current build is far from brilliant but it’s still in early stages, I’ll hopefully have something new up by mid June.

From now until end of exams (June 12th) blogs will be inconsistent and brief. Thereafter they will probably disappear from the face of the earth and then be replaced with something a little more spiffier. Maybe I’ll invent a new concept of ‘Bulletpoint Blogging.’

Let’s test this now. Here’s a summary of everything I could think of being worthy of publication:

  •  Peep Show downloaded from iTunes is very entertaining during a powercut.
  • I am infuriated by the proposed changed to the Bristol bus route and plan to be expressing my anger in various forms of media.
  • The Stumble toolbar is amazing.
  • Firefox 3 is certainly promising, but takes a while to getting used to.
  • DHL/Inland Revenue and Customs are on my death list.
  • The Pussycat Dolls actually have talent and are amazing performers. Girlicious are the opposite.
  • Granite by Pendulum is quite the disgrace. It licks everything that was good about Blood Sugar and massively dilutes it, though the lyrics make it somewhat good.
  • For the record, Pendulum’s new record is a pathetic rock’n'bass album designed for a mainstream assault for those who can’t handle serious psytrance. Save yourself the trouble and download El Hornet’s megamix of the whole album - it cuts out the masses of static crap and gives you forty minutes of your life back.
  •   The MSTRKRFT remix of D.A.N.C.E by Justice sounds like Daft Punk on steroids. Absolutely astounding.
  • I need to get my hands on some more Talamasca. Aries is definitely a song I will not be able to put down for the next few months. It’s on par with Infect
  • I may be purchasing an iPhone in the coming months.

Summary of this blog: Download ‘Aries by Talamasca’ and ‘D.A.N.C.E (MSTRKRFT) by Justice.’ I exist but I’m not fully commited to blogging due to exams. I wish I could do Carmit and Kimberley’s (Pussycat Dolls) live dances in ‘Show Me What You Got.’
